THE DOCUMENTARY "MY MUTHALAND,"AWARDED REGIONAL EMMY

My Muthaland is a documentary short by Yining Zhou, Avinash Chak and A. C. (Andrew) Fowler. It follows Minita Gandhi, a Chicagoland actress, who is on a journey to bear all in a new play. My Muthaland was an in-competition official selection at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival. See the trailer here.

February 2017  Minita  as Musarrat in the newly released hit webseries Brown Girls, written by Fatimah Asghar and directed by Sam Bailey. 

January 2017 Minita performs MUTHALAND at AUGUSTANA COLLEGE and  UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SANTA CRUZ

Minita just wrapped the role of Mrs. Patel-Thompson on the new comedy web series Other People's Children.

Minita can be seen on The Exorcist on FOX and on Chicago Fire in her recurring role of Dr. Prospere

Minita workshopped Glass written by Rohina Malik at Chicago Dramatists.

Minita directed a workshop production of Lavina Jadwhani's solo piece, The Sitayana for Stage Left Theatre.

IT'S A WRAP! 

In October 2016, Minita  her one-woman play Muthaland at the 5th Annual Asian American Theatre Conference & Festival hosted by Oregon Shakespeare Festival. There was also a special performance for the Statera Foundation for Women in the Arts Conference at Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

Minita originated the role of Deepti in the world premiere of Carroll Gardens, written by A. Zell Williams and directed by Ann Filmer, at 16th Street Theater. 

Minita wrapped filming the leading role of Anju in the upcoming short film The Arrangement.
